During the past half century, Myong Ji University has striven to live up to its well earned reputation as one of the leading private institutions of higher learning in Korea. Academic excellence has always been, and will continue to be, the hallmark of the learning experience here at Myong Ji. We also endeavor to imbue our students with the noble Christian values codified in our Founding Spirit.
Since Myong Ji first opened its doors during the formative years immediately following the national liberation of our nation from the yoke of Japanese colonial rule, it has made quantitative and qualitative strides perhaps unequaled in the annals of Korean education. We have now grown to two campuses (one in downtown Seoul and the other in scenic Yongin), with 6 colleges (entailing 34 departments and divisions), a graduate school, and 8 specialized postgraduate programs. Graduates of Myong Ji, now 74,000 strong, continue to leave their marks in fields as diverse as Childhood Education to Computer Science, both here and abroad.
Our Korean faculty, a considerable number of whom have earned their terminal degrees in leading institutions worldwide, are now engaged in joint projects with foreign scholars, effectively leading Myong Ji into the world arena by bringing the world to Myong JI. The success of our 'Research Park' and 'Research Academy' programs is a testimony to our continuing efforts to become the hub of advanced research and development. Come join Myong Ji, as it seeks to meet the challenges of the new millennium.
-Myongji Spirit
